The toolset is weak, no company stands behind it.

It is live and kicking, even if it started in 1992.
And what do you mean by "The toolset is weak"?
What is available for Qt that you don't find for wxWidgets?

Qt has many more subsystems and momentum going forward.

What do you mean?

I don't try to argue wxWidgets vs Qt, really.
Just trying to learn.

Basically wxWidgets is great for not having a major company (i.e. commercial
version) behind it, but there is a huge difference in what you get from that
kind of an organization. wxWidgets reminds me of Lua, which also does not
have a major company behind it. It has really cool features, but without
the commercial push, the user is left with gaps that really should be filled
(the gaps prevent it from being called a commercial product). A huge gap is
the toolset. Qt has Qt Designer which is a world-class resource editor.
wxWidgets has some freeware program which you once linked to, which I'm sure
is wonderful but you can't call that world-class. And the list goes on.
For example, the Qt Creator is a start at creating a world-class IDE
specifically for Qt. wxWidgets doesn't have anything like that. Nor does
it have any plans to go in that direction. That's why I think Qt has more
momentum.

Qt has invested heavily in WebKit and is pushing into Web apps as well as
cross platform desktop apps. Again, there is no such strategy from
wxWidgets.

Thanks,
David
