C# isn't easier than VB.
MFC needs C++, how can it be "easier"? MFC is actually a pretty poor choice
of C++ toolkit, if you want native Win32 use ATL/WTL and for portability
there's wxWindows, QT, and several others.
You're right that VB is easier than MFC though.

The difference between these is level of abstraction, which does affect
speed, resource requirements, and ease of use, and not always in the
direction one might expect.

I guess that you mean most Windows CE programs use C++ to have better
control over memory usage. That's probably true.

I don't think anyone seriously uses pure C anymore -- the only advantages
over C++ are easier analysis, but if you need theorem proving you'd be using
something like Ada.

Hi,

You can write windows programs in MFC, VB, C#, C++, C, or Assembly language.
http://webster.cs.ucr.edu/Page_win32/index.html

So, it pretty much goes with saying that C# is easier than VB.
VB is easier than MFC, MFC is easier than C++, etc.

The basic difference is speed, memory space and ease of use.
Most programs written for Windows CE are written in C, to minimize memory
space.

All these languages, sooner or later, call the Windows API to peform certain
windowing functions.
All that really means is #include "windows.h"

Hi, excuseme for my very basic questions, mainly because today I have no
any
visual studio 6.0 near me.

I could make not few programs using winapi, callback functions, etc, I am
reading Petzold's book, and I understand that it uses visual c. But, what
basic diferences I shall find if I chose vc++,. Mainly, I "know" that c is
not an object oriented programming language, so first very naive
conclusion
is "I cant use VC for win prog", but I could to do it not few times. And
second very very naive conclusion: "You can only use VC++" if you want to
use win programs..

My first answer is that VC is diferent to C, so I can use win programming.
So my ask is focused mainly the diference beteeen VC and VC++.

thanks very much in advance, Carlos.
