I was wondering, does anyone know of a free java to exe compiler

Why do you want one?

That's an important question.

1. speed
2. to look like an ordinary app to Windows users
3. to obfuscate your code
4. to simplify installation

OP: That's why Roedy and Andrew and Jukka ask why you want to do this. To
elucidate, one of Java's many strengths is its cross-platform compatibility.
It's conceivable that you want Java just for its relatively simple syntax,
robust and extensive APIs, innate multi-threaded capabilities, inherently
network-based structure, memory management and all-around sexiness, but take
away its portability and those are all you have left.

The normal way to package desktop apps in Java is the JAR file. What about
that is unsuitable for you?
