So, probably this package is not intended to be compiled with
MSVC++/Borland. Maybe you need to use GCC in order to build it.
Why do need to compile it with MSVC++/Borland in the first place?
Actually, Microsoft compiler I have had the most problems with
missing support files and such. Having to cover to WinAPI calls
and such. Which is fine by me, but they shouldn't call it Win32
What do you mean by "support files"? MSVC++ is the most popular
dev environment and compiler on Windows platform. How do you think
other people write Windows programs with MSVC++? If you need help
files, then there is MSDN library both online and offline. Also,
when you install Platform SDK you can install its help files, too.
Platform SDK bundled with a subset of MSDN, which is not specific
to Visual Studio.
