For the record, I don't see how one can reasonably interpret Doug's
phrase the way you do. It just says that each thread must acquire a
mutex before that particular thread enters a critical section - not that
all of them must somehow coordinate to enter the section simultaneously.
Frankly, your interpretation is ridiculous.
